e	edit (default) — click selects, drag moves, marquee on empty drag
d	draw — click empty extends the active line
l	lift — two waypoint clicks build a connector. cross-plane = lift, same plane = walking transfer

core gestures (any mode)

click waypoint	select it · make line active
click tube	select that line · make active
click empty (different plane)	switch active plane to that one
drag waypoint	move it (octolinear snap)
shift+drag waypoint	move between planes
drag empty	marquee select
dbl-click waypoint	open station popover
dbl-click tube	insert bend at cursor
dbl-click empty	start new line here · enter draw
right-click target	context menu for that thing
right-click empty	deselect everything + empty-cell menu (add note)

notes

right-click empty	add note here — free text pinned to that cell
click note	edit its text (empty deletes)
drag note	move it, across planes too
right-click note	size presets / delete

draw mode modifiers

shift+click	skip octolinear snap (raw cell)
ctrl/cmd+click	drop on whatever plane the cursor is over (auto-switches activePlane)
dbl-click waypoint	activate that line, extend from this point (flips line if needed)
